ULX and gm_steamworks?
« on: September 16, 2012, 01:03:22 AM »
I was thinking would it be possible to make a little addon pack for ULX that adds full gm_steamworks support to ULX?

What gm_steamworks does is it lets Garrysmod communicate with steam through lua, as in you can add and remove friends, invite people to groups and all sorts of things.

You can find out more about it here... http://facepunch.com/showthread.php?t=823783

In what particular ways would you like to see this supported in ULX?

The ability to have an in-game status would be cool, because not every one in the server is on your friends list and stuff like that it would be cool if you could set your status as away on steam, and in game it will say that you are away.

Also lets say you just made a community and you want more people to join your group having the server send invites to people would be awesome.

I do believe that the module is needed on a client as well as the server, so that is where there is a little bit of a problem.

maybe a bulk invite as well a command to invite everyone, everyone online, everyone online & not in-game, everyone in selected group(s), etc.
