If you do add it, then I think that  "Mr.Apple has joined the server and was last seen xx weeks, xx days, xx hours, and xx minutes ago"  is the best format

Does this still work? I added it to my server yesterday and people have said it's not working. I dropped the folder in the addons folder as I noticed "addon.txt". I will put the lua folder contents into my server's lua folder and see if it will work. I hope this mod isn't outdated as I've seen it was made in early 2013.

I just tried adding the lua to my lua folder and it gives me an error... Any chance on this getting fixed? This is a very useful mod.

It doesn't go in the lua files... I don't know exactly what would happen if you placed it in there. You need to place the unzipped folder in the addons folders. Also you might want t delete what ever files put in your lua folder.

Alright, well first I put the "Apple-Join_Leave_Msg" folder in my addons folder, but it didn't do anything. What am I doing wrong?

Try lowercasing the name, you might be on a Unix server.

I've taken your advice and made the name in lower case. It still doesn't work, unfortunately. What else can I do, and is this happening to anyone else? Is there something I have to enable?

...what?
Unix based servers seem to hate capitalized folder names for addons.
Don't ask- I don't know, either.

you're telling me, I have a good 4-5 icons in my T menu that refuse to work because the whole weapon keeps referencing VGUI and the file is in vgui. I tried changing it everywhere and it made the icons go from pink and black to looking like the tube trail see through. I kind of gave up and said people can just learn how to read. lol

edit for guy above me: yes it's working fine. Are you using a custom HUD? if it uses printtalk(don't remember if it did or not) then some huds will make this not work or maybe a chat box.

Are you putting them in the base gmod vgui folder instead of the ttt gamemode vgui folder?

Edit:
So is this how you want it to say when someone joins the server?
[Server] [Admin] Mr. Apple has joined the server!

??

Could you do that? I need that :3

The disconnect message shows up but the connect message doesn't show up on my server.
