Highlight what crashed a sandbox server?
« on: July 21, 2013, 07:07:59 PM »
Is there a way to highlight in the ULX logs or somewhere else what caused a server crash? I keep looking at the end of the logs, but there is nothing suspicious going on. I wonder if there is someway to make the server report what caused a crash?

Lots of things could cause a crash and 99/100 times it won't be something that will show up in a log.

I'm not sure what to do at the moment. I had almost a full server and when I look into the logs, nothing pinpoints the problem.

Let me take this moment to welcome you to Garry's Mod server hosting!

Unless you or someone who plays on your server starts to notice a pattern (someone doing something or something happening right before a crash) and you can reproduce the result, you will likely never find out what is crashing your server.

You can start with making sure all of your addons are up to date and compatible with each other though.

Yeah, it's like putting together a giant puzzle and someone is hiding the pieces from you. Ohh well, looks like I will just have to figure it out.

Supposedly garry looks at crash reports. He also used to have a site that would read the dump and tell you where it crashed so you could try to fix it yourself, but I think he took it down (or at least I can't find it anymore).

He still has his graph at http://errors.garrysmod.com/ -
But, I don't see info when clicking the 'top' or 'worst' links at top.

It was a different website than that, though that is also a good place to see errors in general.
