The picture is just comedic relief; the name is my favorite character from the show as she has basically the exact same personality as me.
Also, it displays my brony-ness. :P

I've never actually watched MLP proper, but I have seen a fan-made MLP short and heard a technical talk on some of their animations which makes me think I'd like it. Fortunately, I have no easy access to MLP or I'd probably be tempted to watch it.

That is one of my personal favorites...
