The dll files apparently have the possibility of having exploits.
Out of the Garry's Mod business.

The source was released for them, there are no exploits. If you're paranoid you could just compile them yourself from the source given.

It's not me, it's Vilayer that's paranoid. :)

EDIT: Erm, where's the source? I'm looking on the github repository, but I'm unable to find them.
