Some weird bug
« on: March 10, 2015, 08:37:29 PM »
I set myself to superadmin and in the chatbox it says it. But when i open the ulx menu and go to groups and click on superadmin my name isnt there. I try manually adding myself by my steam id and it still doesnt save it. I really need help. cause when i leave the server and come back my rank is gone

Two questions?
Are you familiar with ulx and ulib (As in you know really what everything does)?
and
Is this a brand new server, like are you the only one on it?

Sounds like the server is brand new, so I would just delete everything and start fresh.

Delete:
<gmod folder>/addons/ulx
<gmod folder>/addons/ulib
<gmod folder>/data/ulx
<gmod folder>/data/ulib

Make sure you're downloading from here:  http://ulyssesmod.net/downloads.php
Then just DOWNLOAD IT AGAIN from above link and extract/place ulx and ulib in your addons folder.

My best guess as to what caused it is you tried to manually edit something and didn't do it right or you have an outdated/fake copy of ulx/ulib.

EDIT:  Make sure you're using the server's console to add yourself and not editing the text files.

Aaron, I've not officially played Gmod for more than an hour or two in, I dunno, 5+ years?
I still enjoy the challenge when someone comes and asks a real question not already answered 50+ times already elsewhere.
Even more when it's code related. Keeps my brain from locking up due to cobwebs. :)

Hang out with us at least once a week whether you like us play Gmod or not.
Heck, schedule it right, you might even visit the day after my weekly bath.  :D
