MOTD does not show up
« on: November 01, 2015, 11:02:50 AM »
Hello.

I am using the NiandraMOTD Addon, a custom MOTD. I installed everything correctly but the MOTD does not show up. (The Author said I should write a thread here) I am using ULX an ULib and I disabled the default MOTD in the settings. With doing !motd (which would be the command to let the NiandraMOTD pop up) it just says: ULX MOTD is disabled!

I need help.

Are there any errors you are getting?
try NiandraMOTD_Open in console.

What you could do to avoid the motd is disabled message is go in addons/ulx/lua/ulx/modules/sh/menus.lua and then just disable the whole ulx command by(at the top of the file before any code) typing --[[ then at the end of the file after all of the code type ]] . That should at least remove the motd is disabled message after a server restart, but the motd addon you got should still open either way, if it doesn't, it is probably a problem with the addon itself or that isn't the command. if there is a console command to open the motd then you can also make a custom ulx command to run the console command to open it. Also if you don't get any clientside errors then check the server console if you didn't already.

It's not the error message that is the problem per say, it is the fact that ULX also uses the !motd command. You would have to remove the !motd command from ULX, or set the ULX motd command to open Niandra's MOTD. I'm surprised Niandra didn't account for this.

Sorry if I sound rude but that is just completely disrespecting what the whole thread is about, it's not what motd addon is, it's getting it to work... {Insert deragatory comment here that I probably should say (edited)}

That wasn't rude at all considering the circumstances.
