APAnti development.
« on: April 29, 2016, 09:10:31 PM »
Hello everyone I have recently stopped playing Garry's Mod as it's no longer fun for me the only thing I used to like doing is administration/modding but even that has lost its flavor.
I cry every time I see that I am not a respected member of this community.

For this reason I am looking for people who would like to maintain APAnti on github as it's my most popular addon and probably the only free Anti Prop Kill that's fully featured.

Please post below if you are interested.

I assume by maintain you mean make sure it works with the latest version of Garry's Mod, so I'm wondering: does it usually break with new updates of Garry's Mod?

I'd volunteer but I'm notoriously lazy so if it's too much work to maintain then it probably wouldn't get maintained (by me).

I have no idea what you're trying to tell me.
Also the text was mostly there mostly as a sort of joke as I saw that you guys added a respected thing.
Then later I figured out that it would be much better to just put it in my signature, rather then adding it to every post I make... so I did (but obviously forgot to edit it out).
It's a shame too because blue is one of my favourite colours!

No it doesn't, people run into issues with it once in a while and it needs a quick patch. In fact I am pretty sure that after the last update I am going to do to it there wouldn't need to be any follow up patches/fixes. However it's better to be safe then sorry.

To complete JamminR's sentence: "... as you once were a respected member of this community". This is mostly in regards to activity-- good members come and go all of the time here. I came up with the idea for the respected group to basically thank the members who are patient and helpful with the many people we get help/support requests from, and hopefully get them to stick around just a bit longer. We rely quite a bit on community support, since we rarely have the time to help users with their setup (Wives/families, full time jobs, etc., followed by very little free time that we have hundreds of other things we'd like to do, too). That being said, I'm glad you enjoy being a part of our community, and I'm glad to see your recent posts assisting others. We hope you stick around for a long time! :)  (And sorry for missing your Steam chat the other day.. it takes me a while to get on top of things at times).

I've just starred and am now watching your repo (you should add a link to your main post), and will watch for new issues people make, and attempt some fixes. I guess would qualify me as a "maintainer", but I cannot always guarantee speedy response to breakages and things. I did notice that you have the project on two separate repositories- in order to increase popularity/potential contributions, as well as avoiding issues with history and contributors, you may consider utilizing tags or branches in Git to denote stable releases, and keep your code in one place.
